Yours truly, in print!

Earlier this month New Riders released Modular Web Design by Nathan Curtis. Nathan is a mastermind of all things wireframe, where I see a web page as a canvas of code blocks he sees content, structure and architecture.

This book is a step by step guide on how to build a kick ass component based design system. Much of the theories, examples and methodologies in this book are taken directly from the sun.com playbook. I have three contributions in the book on various topics along with fellow Sun folks Chris Haaga, Jennifer Bohmbach, and Martin Hardee.

Check out the book’s website for info.

Sun.com Facelift

With a little help from my friend, Sarah Lamping, the sun.com homepage got a minor face lift. Nothing dramatic, but it was just the right moves to better align the homepage with some other new designs coming out on sun.com. We also adjusted the layout to better frame the Trials section, but this change will come later. For now it’s just a bit of CSS magic.
